BEGINNER’S COURSE (WHITE BELT-BLUE BELT)

Our program instills politeness, discipline and self esteem in the students lives as they work towards earning their black belt. Sessions include fun and action packed activities to build strength, balance and coordination.

It is recommended that two classes a week be taken, so the student will remember the techniques faster if they are not practicing regularly at home and gives them a chance to advance in a timely manner.

Loose fitting clothing should be worn for the first class. Mandatory karate uniform (karategi) will be available for purchase before and after class for $40. Cash, checks, PayPal and Venmo accepted.

Mon: 5pm-545pm
Tue: 445pm-530pm
All Belts Wed: 545pm-645pm
Thu: 5pm-545pm

Judo Belts

NOVICE-INTERMEDIATE COURSE (BLUE BELT-RED BELT)

TOURNAMENT KIDS

Pre-Requisites: Know a kata and have sparring gear

These classes will focus only on kata and sparring for tournaments. We will set up mock tournaments in class, so the kids will know what to expect in competition.

Students do not have to compete in tournaments to join this class. These classes are also an opportunity for more practice on their kata for their next belt, if they are not practicing enough at home, and to overall improve their sparring abilities.

All belts are welcomed, but two requirements will be knowing, at least, one kata and having sparring equipment that can be purchased from the instructor.

Thu: 7p-745p

BO CLASS

Pre-Requisite: Purple Belt

This class will focus on the “king” of Okinawan weapons, the bo/staff. This weapon complements the style of karate being taught here at the Winslow Center. We will focus on basics, partner drills, kata, and kata applications. Furthermore, the learning of bo kata opens up the weapons category for our students to compete in at tournaments we attend. Due to spacing, registration will be limited.

Wed: 7p-745p
